Description

  • Design and implement advanced PostgreSQL schemas with row-level security for multi-tenant applications.
  • Build and maintain async backend services using Python frameworks such as FastAPI with Pydantic validation.
  • Architect scalable data pipelines and orchestrate multi-stage data processing workflows.
  • Implement data isolation patterns in shared database environments.
  • Design and manage complex data workflows such as additive changes, diff detection, and selective re-processing.
  • Write and maintain OpenAPI contracts as the development specification for cross-functional teams.
  • Collaborate with AI/LLM leads on output validation, deterministic data integration, and system reliability.
  • Develop performant, testable, scalable, and secure code.
  • Provide accurate status tracking, reporting, and estimation.
  • Collaborate with engineers and product leadership to understand requirements and deliver technical solutions.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Python experience as a primary backend language.
  • 5+ years of total software engineering experience with hands-on backend and data engineering work.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL and database architecture, including RLS, multi-tenancy, and schema design.
  • Experience with FastAPI or an equivalent async Python framework.
  • Experience with data pipeline orchestration, ETL processes, and async processing.
  • Experience building software systems of medium-to-large scope and complexity.
  • Contract-first or API-first development experience with OpenAPI, REST API contracts, or similar.
  • Proficiency with relational databases and SQL.
  • Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Experience with Pydantic and JSON schema validation for structured backend output (preferred).
  • Experience with AWS RDS and managed database services (preferred).
  • Experience with multi-tenant SaaS architecture patterns (preferred).
  • Experience with Docker and containerization (preferred).
  • Experience integrating LLM or AI systems from a data perspective (preferred).
  • Experience with AWS IAM and secrets management (preferred).
  • Experience with migration tools such as Alembic (preferred).
  • Experience with testing strategies for data integrity and security, including unit and integration testing (preferred).
  • Understanding of SDLC and AI SDLC (preferred).
  • Knowledge of HTTP protocols and serialization formats such as JSON and XML (preferred).
