Description

  • Own delivery outcomes across all products, including scope management, release cadence, quality controls, and stakeholder alignment.
  • Design, implement, and continuously refine the human-agent engineering model for AI-assisted software development.
  • Establish maker-checker workflows, quality gates, and escalation protocols for AI-generated code, tests, and documentation.
  • Define and govern approved AI tools, IP protection policies, and PHI-safe agent workflows.
  • Directly manage the engineering team through hiring, coaching, feedback, conflict resolution, and retention.
  • Own full-stack architecture decisions across web applications, APIs, infrastructure, and AI integrations.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, environments, and release quality checkpoints.
  • Own engineering security and compliance practices, including access controls, secrets management, and audit trails.
  • Lead hiring and team building, including role definition, technical interviewing, and hiring decisions.
  • Assess current workflows and bottlenecks, then document and refine the engineering runbook and operating cadence.

Requirements

  • First-principles thinker who can solve novel problems without relying on existing playbooks.
  • High learning velocity and comfort operating in ambiguous, unfamiliar domains.
  • Ownership-oriented mindset with experience creating order in chaotic delivery environments.
  • Startup-proven experience shipping real products to real users under real deadlines.
  • Technically credible, with ability to write and review code, debug production issues, and understand systems architecture.
  • Direct and fair leadership style with the ability to give clear feedback and handle conflict promptly.
  • Strong academic foundation from a rigorous technical program such as IIT, NIT, BITS, or demonstrably equivalent.
  • Experience building and leading engineering teams of about 5-15 people at startups or high-growth companies.
  • Experience shipping SaaS products rather than only maintaining existing systems.
  • Familiarity with or strong interest in agentic AI workflows beyond simple autocomplete use cases.
  • Healthcare or healthtech experience, especially with compliance, PHI handling, or clinical workflows, is strongly preferred.
  • Thoughtful opinions on AI governance topics such as IP, security, quality, and audit are preferred.
