Description

  • Own and continuously develop the global compliance framework covering KYC/KYB, AML/CFT, sanctions, third-party due diligence, ethics, policies, and controls.
  • Oversee risk-based compliance decisions, investigations, and responses involving regulators, law enforcement, fraud, scams, and other high-risk matters.
  • Monitor compliance risks, drive remediation, and report to RiskCo, ExCo, and relevant Boards.
  • Manage compliance vendors, tools, and processes while promoting compliance awareness across the organization.
  • Advise on corporate, commercial, cross-border, governance, entity management, intercompany, transaction, and international expansion matters.
  • Provide legal guidance across multiple jurisdictions, including DIFC/UAE operations, and coordinate external counsel.
  • Support Board, shareholder, corporate, and statutory matters.
  • Advise People/HR on employment, contractor models, employee relations, investigations, terminations, and cross-border workforce structures.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate vendor, customer, partner, and other commercial agreements.
  • Advise on international data protection and privacy requirements and translate legal obligations into practical controls.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of relevant legal experience.
  • University law degree (LLB, JD, or equivalent) and professional legal qualification or admission to practice in at least one recognized jurisdiction.
  • Strong corporate, commercial, and employment law experience in international and cross-border environments.
  • Experience advising People/HR and organizations operating across multiple entities and jurisdictions.
  • Experience owning or operating compliance frameworks, with practical knowledge of KYC/KYB, AML/CFT, sanctions, and third-party due diligence.
  • Strong commercial contracting, negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Knowledge of data protection and privacy requirements for international organizations.
  • Ability to exercise sound legal judgment and translate complex requirements into practical, business-oriented solutions.
  • Experience with DIFC/UAE law and regulations preferred.
  • DeFi/crypto experience, multi-jurisdictional compliance scaling, regulator or investigator interaction, international restructurings, investments or M&A preferred; ICA, ACAMS, CIPP, or equivalent certification is advantageous.
