Description

  • Own day-to-day engineering delivery and keep work moving smoothly.
  • Ensure tickets are clear, prioritized, and progressing.
  • Review and approve pull requests.
  • Maintain high standards for code quality, performance, and maintainability.
  • Help engineers break down work and make sound technical decisions.
  • Mentor team members and increase team autonomy.
  • Identify risks early and escalate issues proactively.
  • Improve team processes to make delivery faster and more predictable.
  • Act as the first point of contact for developers instead of the CTO.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Prior experience leading developers or owning delivery.
  • Strong system design and backend architecture experience.
  • Comfort giving direct feedback and maintaining standards.
  • Ability to balance speed versus quality.
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong ownership mentality.
  • Calm, firm, and consistent under pressure.
  • Experience scaling teams in growing companies is a plus.
  • Experience improving messy or low-process environments is a plus.
  • Background working closely with product teams is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Backend PHP 8.1+, OOP, MySQL, ElasticSearch, RabbitMQ, Vue.js, and TypeScript.
