Description

  • Build API-first backend services in Ruby on Rails.
  • Design reusable backend service architecture and clean interfaces.
  • Design and optimize SQL database schemas for correctness and performance.
  • Build and operate background jobs and asynchronous processing workflows.
  • Implement event-driven workflows when needed.
  • Support high-throughput workloads while maintaining system reliability.
  • Own production reliability, including logging, metrics, alerting, and incident response.
  • Use safe rollout practices such as configuration management, controlled releases, and monitoring.
  • Build systems that securely handle sensitive healthcare data under HIPAA/PCI constraints.
  • Deliver AI-assisted features with guardrails, monitoring, and operational controls.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience as a Full Stack Developer.
  • Strong expertise in JavaScript for back-end development.
  • Solid experience with Rails/Ruby frameworks for robust and scalable integrations.
  • Experience with system integrations, APIs, screen scraping, and data migration processes.
  • Proficiency in SQL, including multiple SQL dialects and complex queries.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Excellent English communication skills.
  • Currently living in Latin America.
  • Experience in healthcare technology or similar regulated industries is preferred.
  • Familiarity with legacy system modernization and migration projects is preferred.
  • Proven track record of optimizing system performance and reducing operational costs is preferred.
