Description

  • Lead feature implementation from proposal and specification through implementation and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with finance, operations, product managers, and other stakeholders to identify inefficiencies and define technical solutions.
  • Participate in product decision-making and own projects end to end.
  • Review pull requests and contribute to code quality and maintainability through code review practices.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to the team.
  • Improve the health of the codebase and help reduce technical debt through regular housekeeping efforts.
  • Propose new product improvements and guide their execution.
  • Provide technical leadership, surface risks early, and help the team plan upcoming work.
  • Support the continued development and scaling of critical billing and invoicing platforms.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software development experience, including experience in a senior or technical leadership role.
  • Backend or full-stack engineering experience with a strong backend focus and willingness to work across the stack.
  • Experience with Go is preferred; experience with Python, Java, or Node.js is also relevant, with the ability to ramp up quickly in Go.
  • Proficiency in SQL.
  • Experience developing solutions in the cloud and/or using cloud services.
  • Strong knowledge of software engineering practices, design patterns, and architectural principles.
  • Experience with Git/GitHub.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience leading technical projects from conception to deployment.
  • Experience with cloud billing for AWS, GCP, and Azure is a bonus.
  • Experience with Google BigQuery is a bonus.
  • Ability to work flexibly in a fast-paced, constantly evolving team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with non-technical stakeholders and translate business challenges into technical requirements.
  • Self-organized, goal-oriented, self-motivated, thorough, and tenacious approach to work.
