Description

  • Lead and manage a team of 5–10 engineers, driving ceremonies and day-to-day team operations.
  • Remove blockers and enable engineers to deliver clearly defined, high-value work on schedule.
  • Own team member professional well-being, career development, performance management, and continuous feedback.
  • Support and enforce high-quality production releases by overseeing the release process, monitoring deployments, and maintaining Production branch standards.
  • Review pull requests and provide clear, actionable technical feedback to elevate code and design quality.
  • Lead and participate in technical design discussions, align on architecture and implementation approaches, and dive deep into hands-on work when needed.
  • Drive and own the team's technical roadmap, assess and prioritize technical debt, and ensure components scale and remain healthy.
  • Collaborate with Technical Product Owner and UI/UX Designer to plan sprints, translate business objectives into engineering priorities, and maintain a house-level roadmap.
  • Balance sprint commitments with customer-facing responsibilities by triaging support tickets, setting expectations, and prioritizing work to protect sprint focus.

Requirements

  • 3+ years leading engineering teams (typically 5+ engineers) in delivery-focused environments.
  • 5+ years of experience as a software engineer with a strong hands-on technical background and ability to review code and guide design decisions.
  • Hands-on experience with Golang and Node.js for backend services and APIs.
  • Hands-on experience with React for complex, large-scale front-end applications.
  • Experience building orchestrated data pipelines (Dagster, Airflow, or similar).
  • Experience designing and operating systems in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure) and solid cloud fundamentals (microservices, managed pipelines, compute).
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform (or similar).
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems concepts (consistency, availability, observability, fault tolerance), system reliability, performance tuning, and production incident management.
  • Proven experience owning delivery and execution including sprint planning, backlog management, and release readiness, plus strong communication and mentoring skills.
  • AI-driven mindset with willingness to adopt AI-driven development practices; bonus: multi-cloud experience and background scaling teams, processes, or technical systems.
