Description

  • Lead a team of engineers and own both delivery and team development.
  • Run regular 1:1s, growth plans, performance reviews, and feedback to support career development.
  • Develop future technical and management leaders within the team.
  • Write and review code and participate as a hands-on technical contributor.
  • Drive architectural and technical design decisions with senior ICs.
  • Uphold engineering standards through thorough pull-request review and a healthy release process.
  • Own team commitments, planning, prioritization, and delivery cadence.
  • Partner with Product, Design, GTM, Customer Success, and the Technical Product Owner on scope, sequencing, and tradeoffs.
  • Translate business objectives into clear engineering priorities and keep work aligned to those goals.
  • Own hiring for the team, including interviewing, coaching, and making hiring decisions quickly.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of engineering experience, including 4+ years in engineering management roles.
  • Experience actively coding as part of engineering management responsibilities.
  • Hands-on experience building cloud-based SaaS products.
  • Experience running services in production on AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Ownership of availability, cost, and customer-facing product surfaces.
  • Strong background in databases, SQL, query optimization, and BigQuery.
  • Deep technical fluency in a team’s primary stack and the ability to read, write, and review code at a senior level.
  • Track record of measurably improving an engineering team’s delivery velocity, technical quality, or caliber.
  • Strong judgment under pressure and direct, candid communication skills.
  • Preferred: AI-augmented workflows and experience applying AI tools or agentic workflows to improve velocity and quality.
  • Preferred: Experience with more than one cloud provider.
  • Preferred: Background scaling teams, processes, or technical systems as an organization grows.
