Description

  • Own Zenara’s infrastructure, security posture, and compliance engineering from the ground up.
  • Design and implement CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, environment management, and release quality gates.
  • Develop and maintain HIPAA-compliant controls including access management, secrets handling, encryption, and audit logging.
  • Create monitoring, alerting, incident response workflows, SLOs, runbooks, and on-call processes.
  • Lead cybersecurity efforts including threat modeling, attack surface reduction, intrusion detection, vulnerability management, and incident response.
  • Support AI infrastructure needs such as model serving, GPU provisioning, autoscaling, and production AI workflows.
  • Manage cloud infrastructure on AWS or Azure with a focus on reliability, cost optimization, disaster recovery, and capacity planning.
  • Prepare the company for SOC 2 Type II readiness by implementing controls, collecting evidence, and working with auditors.
  • Review infrastructure and security risks and halt releases that do not meet security or compliance requirements.
  • Document systems, security protocols, and operational processes to establish repeatable best practices.

Requirements

  • 5–10 years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering building and maintaining production infrastructure.
  • A strong security mindset with the confidence to raise concerns and say no when risks are too high.
  • Experience with HIPAA, SOC 2, or healthcare compliance frameworks, including BAAs and audit trails.
  • Proficiency with AWS or Azure and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, Pulumi, or CloudFormation.
  • Experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, CircleCI, or Jenkins.
  • Experience with container orchestration such as Kubernetes, ECS, or equivalent.
  • Hands-on cybersecurity experience including threat modeling, vulnerability assessment, intrusion detection, and incident response.
  • Strong written English communication skills for async collaboration, documentation, incident reports, and architecture designs.
  • Experience working in startup or high-growth environments with ambiguity, limited resources, and fast deadlines.
  • Preferred: experience supporting ML/AI infrastructure such as model serving or GPU clusters.
  • Preferred: security experience in healthcare SaaS, including PHI handling, encryption, and access auditing.
  • Preferred: prior exposure to penetration testing, security audits, SOC 2 or HITRUST certification processes, observability tools, FHIR/HL7, multi-tenant SaaS security, cloud cost optimization, or certifications such as CISSP or CEH.
