Description

  • Own problems end-to-end from discovery through to shipped product.
  • Design simple, scalable, high-quality flows, systems, and interfaces.
  • Stay close to customers by understanding educators, schools, and internal teams in their day-to-day work.
  • Build and contribute to the research process through interviews, observation, data, and product usage.
  • Turn insights into action by shaping problems, validating direction, and informing what gets built.
  • Create fast feedback loops by testing ideas early with prototypes, conversations, and live experiments.
  • Prototype and validate ideas quickly using modern and AI-assisted tools.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers and product managers, including contributing directly to implementation.
  • Use judgment to balance speed and quality, shipping early and iterating often.
  • Mentor other designers and help raise the design bar across the team.

Requirements

  • Senior-level product design experience in a collaborative product environment.
  • Comfort working remotely from CT/ET time zones while collaborating with teams in the West Coast and Europe.
  • Ability to work across the full product lifecycle, from discovery to delivery.
  • Experience with user research, synthesis, and translating insights into product direction.
  • Ability to prototype quickly and explore solutions beyond static design tools.
  • Comfort collaborating deeply with engineers and product managers.
  • Interest in contributing to implementation and shaping production code with modern tools such as Claude.
  • Strong judgment around tradeoffs between speed, quality, and iteration.
  • Experience mentoring other designers or contributing to team-level design standards (preferred).
  • Familiarity with tools such as Dovetail, Figma, Lovable, and Claude (preferred).
