Description

  • Grow the health and nutrition portfolio through lead development, pre-positioning, concept notes, and proposal development.
  • Collaborate with business development and country teams on partner mapping, relationship development, and new business opportunities.
  • Design project strategies, facilitate design workshops, and develop theories of change, logframes, and indicators.
  • Review proposals for technical quality, donor compliance, and appropriate budgeting for critical implementation costs.
  • Act as global technical lead for health, nutrition, and WASH programming and supervise contractors supporting these portfolios.
  • Provide technical assistance to country offices on assessments, planning, design, monitoring and evaluation, capacity building, and program quality assurance.
  • Strengthen country office capacity to develop implementation and M&E plans and adapt tools and curricula to context.
  • Mentor staff on engaging health and nutrition activities with local churches and communities.
  • Support learning, documentation, and evidence-building through communities of practice, case studies, briefs, and publications.
  • Represent World Relief externally through networking, technical forums, conferences, working groups, and advocacy.

Requirements

  • Mature and personal Christian faith and commitment to World Relief’s mission, vision, and values.
  • Ability to affirm or acknowledge World Relief’s Core Beliefs, Statement of Faith, Christian Identity, and related faith documents.
  • Demonstrated technical expertise in health and nutrition programming in emergencies and protracted humanitarian crises.
  • Familiarity with CHS and Sphere standards, as well as WHO and UNICEF guidance for humanitarian health and nutrition programming.
  • Experience in program design and business development with successful grant awards from donors such as BHA, DoS, ECHO, and UNICEF.
  • Experience in monitoring and evaluation using quantitative and qualitative methods, including indicators, logframes, and assessments.
  • Strong relationship-building, facilitation, analytical, problem-solving, and adult capacity-building skills.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office and excellent English oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 25% of the time, including to insecure or low-resource locations.
  • Master’s degree or higher in Public Health or a related field preferred.
  • Clinical health qualification such as medical doctor, nurse, or midwife preferred.
  • At least 7 years of experience designing and implementing global health and/or nutrition programs, especially social and behavior change strategies.
  • At least 3 years of experience in fragile or conflict-affected settings or with people on the move preferred.
  • Experience with data analysis software such as Epi Info, SPSS, STATA, or R preferred.
  • Additional language skills in French, Kiswahili, or Arabic preferred.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
