Description

  • Develop and implement statewide political, organizational, and governing strategies with the State Director, officers, and State Steering Committee.
  • Serve as primary staff lead for the California State Steering Committee, including agendas, facilitation, follow-up, tracking, and leadership development.
  • Manage regional steering committees as assigned by the State Director.
  • Staff CA WFP officers and provide strategic support on governance, party growth, regional alignment, and organizational development.
  • Ensure alignment between statewide priorities and Regional Committee strategies, programs, and decision-making.
  • Build systems that improve communication, coordination, accountability, and collaboration across leadership bodies.
  • Lead the development and execution of California WFP’s statewide co-governance strategy.
  • Plan and facilitate statewide and regional governance and co-governance convenings and gatherings.
  • Build and maintain relationships with elected officials, candidates, labor leaders, movement organizations, and coalition partners.
  • Supervise staff and support cross-department coordination, organizational planning, and strategic initiatives.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of experience as an advisor, strategist, or senior leader in political, labor, advocacy, or democratic organizations.
  • Deep experience managing coalitions, steering committees, boards, elected leaders, or other governing bodies.
  • Proven experience managing staff, setting expectations, developing talent, and leading performance management.
  • Experience working with elected officials, candidates, labor unions, and community organizations on shared governing, policy, or political priorities.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including facilitation of complex conversations.
  • Ability to build alignment across diverse stakeholders and translate strategy into action.
  • Knowledge of California’s political and movement ecosystem preferred.
  • Must be currently authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.
