Description

  • Perform copy-editing tasks on assigned projects and accounts.
  • Provide on-demand translation support as needed.
  • Serve as lead linguist for assigned accounts.
  • Own the quality of deliveries translated internally or by external partners for one or more accounts.
  • Prepare, manage, and maintain glossaries, style guides, and work instructions.
  • Handle project-related queries and resolve terminology and language questions.
  • Coordinate with freelancers, agencies, and internal linguists on assigned work.
  • Test, qualify, develop, and train freelancers, vendors, and internal linguists.
  • Interact with clients on linguistic matters when required.
  • Participate in process improvements and help meet productivity, quality, and on-time delivery targets.

Requirements

  • University degree in Translation, Applied Languages, Linguistics, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Native-level proficiency in Vietnamese.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in translation, localization, editing, or content writing.
  • 5+ years of experience in linguistic review and copy-editing.
  • Thorough understanding of the localization process.
  • Excellent knowledge of terminology across multiple subject matters, with Marketing, Legal, UI, and Customer Service preferred.
  • Experience serving as a subject-matter expert for assigned content specialties, service lines, and processes.
  • Experience with CAT tools such as XTM or SDL Trados Studio and query-management tools such as JIRA.
  • Strong experience with standard software such as Windows and Office applications.
  • Ability to learn new localization tools quickly.
  • Ability to give clear, concise, and constructive feedback.
  • Ability to coordinate internal and external translators and work effectively in a virtual team.
  • Ability and willingness to train others, work under tight deadlines, and communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders.
