Description

  • Provide expert translation, localization, and linguistic support for Malagasy language projects.
  • Ensure linguistic accuracy, cultural appropriateness, and contextual relevance across deliverables.
  • Review and edit translations to meet client requirements and quality standards.
  • Implement quality control processes and resolve terminology and style consistency issues.
  • Lead Malagasy language projects from initiation through completion while meeting deadlines and quality benchmarks.
  • Collaborate with project managers, clients, and other linguists to achieve project goals.
  • Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to linguists and junior team members.
  • Develop and maintain Malagasy glossaries, style guides, and linguistic resources.
  • Serve as a point of contact for client linguistic questions, feedback, and concerns.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics, Translation Studies, Language Arts, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in translation, localization, or linguistic services.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Language Lead or Senior Linguist.
  • Native or near-native proficiency in Malagasy with excellent command of English.
  • Additional language proficiency is a plus.
  • Familiarity with translation and localization tools such as CAT tools and TMS systems.
  • Strong knowledge of linguistic quality assurance processes.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
  • Experience in the localization/translation industry for global clients is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Madagascar’s cultural and regional linguistic nuances is preferred.
  • Certification in translation or localization tools is an advantage.
