Description

  • Translate and review content from English into Dutch while preserving the original meaning and ensuring it is readable and understandable for the target audience.
  • Work on marketing and social media content for the client account.
  • Use Smartling as the CAT tool for translation work.
  • Take ownership of incoming work for the account and contribute to the success of the program.
  • Perform copy editing and research as part of the translation workflow.
  • Follow content instructions such as character restrictions and other formatting constraints.
  • Communicate the rationale behind transcreation choices when needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience translating and reviewing content in the specified subject matter.
  • Proficiency in Dutch with native-level fluency in the target language.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both spoken and written.
  • Degree in linguistics, translation, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience across marketing, product, legal, and informational content.
  • Well-versed in translation and terminology tools.
  • Ability to follow instructions, including character restrictions.
  • Technical knowledge of UI and customer support content, plus creative knowledge for synopses and episodic titles.
  • Ability to communicate effectively the rationale behind transcreation decisions.
  • Availability for remote freelance work based anywhere in the Americas.
  • Expected capacity of 2,000 to 5,000 words per week.
  • Ability to start as soon as possible.
