Description

  • Perform copy-editing and on-demand translation for assigned projects and accounts.
  • Provide lead linguistic support for assigned projects or accounts.
  • Maintain glossaries, style guides, work instructions, and other language materials to required quality standards.
  • Manage project queries and resolve terminology and language questions across the team.
  • Coordinate with and qualify new freelancers and vendors as needed.
  • Train internal linguists and external partners based on account and company needs.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams on linguistic matters and workflow improvements.
  • Meet productivity, on-time delivery, quality KPIs, and team-manager goals.

Requirements

  • Native-level fluency in Chinese and written and spoken English fluency across a range of registers.
  • University degree in Translation, Applied Languages, Linguistic Studies, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in translation, localization, editing, or content writing.
  • 2+ years of review experience.
  • Thorough understanding of localization processes.
  • Experience with Windows, Microsoft Office, CAT tools such as XTM and SDL Studio, and query or issue-tracking tools such as JIRA.
  • Ability to quickly learn new localization tools and applications.
  • Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, client communication, and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of terminology in two or more subject areas and ability to provide clear, constructive feedback.
  • Ability to manage tight deadlines, solve practical problems, train others, and work effectively in a virtual team.
