Description

  • Perform copy-editing tasks on assigned projects or accounts.
  • Perform on-demand translation tasks.
  • Provide lead support on assigned projects or accounts.
  • Manage and maintain language materials such as glossaries, style guides, and work instructions.
  • Handle project-related queries and resolve terminology and language questions.
  • Coordinate with freelancers and vendors, including testing and qualifying new partners as needed.
  • Develop and train internal linguists and external partners to meet account needs.
  • Interact with clients and internal teams on linguistic matters and workflow efficiency.
  • Participate in the development of new and improved working processes.
  • Meet or exceed productivity, on-time delivery, and quality KPIs.

Requirements

  • University degree in Translation, Applied Languages, Linguistic Studies, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Native fluency in the target language.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken, across a variety of registers.
  • 4+ years of experience in translation, localization, editing, or content writing.
  • 2+ years of review experience.
  • Thorough understanding of the localization process.
  • Strong user experience with standard software such as Windows and Office applications.
  • Experience with CAT tools such as XTM and SDL Studio, and issue tracking/query management tools such as JIRA.
  • Ability to learn new localization tools and applications quickly.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of terminology in two or more subject matters.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and within a virtual team.
  • Ability and willingness to train others, present information clearly, and provide constructive feedback.
  • Preferred background includes a university degree in another field plus 2 years of full-time translation experience, or 5 years of full-time professional translation experience.
