Description

  • Safely transport PACE participants according to an assigned schedule and maintain high customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct thorough pre-trip and pre-inspection checks on assigned vehicles, including lift vans, ADA-accessible minibuses, and ambulatory vehicles.
  • Ensure vehicles are fully stocked with emergency supplies before each shift.
  • Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company procedures while operating vehicles.
  • Assist participants getting in and out of vehicles and support wheelchair transfers as needed.
  • Communicate promptly with the Transportation Supervisor about changes in a participant’s condition or psychosocial status.
  • Stay alert to input from participants, caregivers, dispatch, and team members to support safe and effective service.
  • Work closely with dispatch, supervisors, and clinics to keep transportation operations aligned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; one year of experience may be substituted for education.
  • Valid driver’s license and eligibility under the company’s commercial auto insurance program.
  • Generally at least 25 years old; candidates ages 23–24 may be considered based on driving history and underwriting criteria.
  • Drivers over age 70 may be required to provide current medical certification.
  • Copy of recent vehicle insurance required.
  • Availability to work a variable schedule, including weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on operational needs.
  • Comfortable using technology.
  • Experience in non-emergency transportation or public transportation preferred.
  • Patient transport and/or exceptional customer service experience preferred.
  • Must participate in DMV pull notice and random alcohol/drug testing, pass DOJ/FBI background check, and pass a DOT physical exam.
  • Must obtain CPR and First Aid certification within 180 days of hire and maintain certification thereafter; certification upon hire is preferred.
  • Proof of vaccination or a vaccine declination form is required prior to employment.
