Description

  • Design and own the end-to-end Microsoft Fabric architecture, including OneLake structure, workspace and capacity strategy, and medallion layering.
  • Define and implement DevOps practices for Fabric, including Git integration, deployment pipelines, environment promotion, and infrastructure as code.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for Fabric artifacts with automated testing, validation, and rollback.
  • Architect and enforce governance, security, and access controls across Fabric and integrate with Microsoft Purview.
  • Design capacity planning and cost optimization strategies for Fabric capacity units.
  • Partner with data engineers, analysts, and platform teams to standardize development patterns, templates, and best practices.
  • Own monitoring, alerting, and observability using Fabric monitoring hub, Azure Monitor, and Log Analytics.
  • Lead migration efforts from legacy data platforms to Microsoft Fabric.
  • Mentor engineering teams on Fabric architecture patterns, DevOps practices, and operational excellence.
  • Serve as the primary technical escalation point for platform reliability, performance, and incident response.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in data platform architecture, cloud infrastructure, or DevOps engineering.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, or deep equivalent experience with Synapse Analytics, Power BI, and Azure Data Factory.
  • Strong command of OneLake, Lakehouse and Warehouse architecture, Delta Lake/Parquet formats, and medallion architecture.
  • Proven DevOps experience with Git-based version control, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code using Bicep, Terraform, or ARM templates.
  • Solid understanding of Fabric security, including workspace roles, item-level permissions, OneLake access roles, sensitivity labels, and Microsoft Entra ID integration.
  • Experience with Fabric capacity management, performance tuning, and cost governance.
  • Hands-on skills in at least one of PySpark/Spark SQL, T-SQL, Python, or KQL.
  • Experience integrating Fabric with external tools such as APIs, Power Automate, Azure Functions, or third-party data sources.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to explain architecture decisions to technical and business stakeholders.
  • Prior experience leading platform migrations to modern data platforms is a strong plus.
  • Microsoft certifications such as DP-600, DP-203, or Azure Solutions Architect Expert are preferred.
  • Experience with Power BI semantic model optimization and DirectLake mode is preferred.
  • Familiarity with data mesh or domain-driven data architecture principles is preferred.
  • Background in regulated industries such as finance or healthcare is preferred.
