Description

  • Set the long-term technical vision and architecture for backend systems across Webflow.
  • Architect and evolve high-throughput distributed systems and APIs for large-scale visitor and event data.
  • Lead foundational platform and data infrastructure investments that enable future product capabilities.
  • Partner with data scientists, ML engineers, and product engineers to productionize statistical and AI/ML capabilities.
  • Lead complex, multi-team technical initiatives from strategy through implementation, launch, and operations.
  • Influence engineering roadmap and technical strategy across the Convert pillar and partner teams.
  • Raise engineering standards through architecture review, technical standards, observability, and operational excellence.
  • Mentor and grow staff and senior engineers while shaping technical culture.
  • Translate product vision into concrete technical problems and execution plans.

Requirements

  • BS/BA degree or relevant experience.
  • 12+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Extensive experience architecting and operating backend and distributed systems at significant scale.
  • Strong technical foundation in languages such as Python, Java, or Go.
  • Deep fluency in modern frameworks, distributed systems patterns, and large-scale system design.
  • Experience designing, building, and operating high-throughput, data-intensive distributed systems in production.
  • Strong understanding of scalability, fault tolerance, consistency tradeoffs, observability, and performance optimization.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership on ambiguous, cross-functional initiatives.
  • Ability to partner effectively with product, design, data science, and ML stakeholders.
  • Strong judgment, clear communication with technical and executive audiences, and pragmatism in fast-moving environments.
  • Proactive embrace of AI and emerging technologies.
