Description

  • Maintain core infrastructure by automating application deployment, infrastructure configuration, and management of critical services such as databases.
  • Triage and resolve operational issues in Linux environments as an on-call engineer.
  • Participate in post-mortems and implement improvements to prevent recurring incidents.
  • Design, implement, and deploy internal tools and services that improve productivity for the Engineering team.
  • Support direct ownership of operations by enabling developers to build and own their systems end-to-end.
  • Help manage server hardware in physical data centers, including occasional onsite travel to Bay Area or New Jersey facilities.
  • Participate in key decisions about the evolution of the infrastructure and platform.
  • Build software and services that automate infrastructure operations across physical data centers and AWS.

Requirements

  • BS or MS in Computer Science or an Engineering field.
  • Experience running and troubleshooting modern Linux systems and services in production.
  • 2+ years of experience developing reliable production-grade software in Java, Go, or similar languages.
  • Proficiency with at least one automation technology such as Terraform, Chef, or Puppet.
  • Experience designing and deploying mission-critical complex distributed systems.
  • Strong critical thinking and communication skills.
  • Desire to learn from peers and educate others.
  • Experience with open source infrastructure technologies such as containers, MariaDB, NGINX, Jenkins, and Chef is relevant.
  • US-based remote work eligibility or ability to work from Palo Alto, CA or New York City, NY.
