Description

  • Manage networking and server hardware, topology, and connectivity across physical data centers and the cloud.
  • Design and build network telemetry, monitoring, and observability systems.
  • Build and maintain an automated change management pipeline for network configuration changes and hardware provisioning.
  • Triages and resolves operational issues as an on-call engineer to keep critical services reliable.
  • Participate in post-mortems and implement improvements to prevent recurring incidents.
  • Collaborate on infrastructure decisions, including the evolution of hybrid cloud architecture.
  • Liaise with third parties, vendors, and internet service providers.
  • Travel to Bay Area and New Jersey data centers and offices for onsite networking projects.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience with routing and switching in data centers.
  • Demonstrated experience with Linux systems.
  • Experience automating production data center environments, including hardware provisioning, network device configuration, and capacity planning.
  • Proficiency with networking protocols such as BGP, MLAG, VLANs, and DNS.
  • Experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls and Juniper switches.
  • Experience with VPN technologies such as OpenVPN, IPSec, and TLS.
  • Experience with AWS networking technologies such as Direct Connect, NACLs, Security Groups, and VPC.
  • Proficiency with automation tools including Chef, Ansible, and Terraform.
  • Proficiency with at least one programming language such as Ruby, Go, or Python, plus configuration management tools such as Git.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • BS or MS in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
