Description

  • Optimize distributed ML systems for high performance on TPU and GPU clusters using techniques such as SPMD, MPMD, and FSDP.
  • Improve accelerator FLOPS efficiency by enhancing compiler optimizations, authoring low-level kernels, and enabling low-precision computation.
  • Develop new neural model architectures and decoding strategies to improve training and inference performance on modern TPU and GPU architectures.
  • Evaluate and integrate open-source and Google state-of-the-art technologies to improve ML workload performance and scalability.
  • Work closely with ML modeling teams to support large-scale, efficient model training and inference.
  • Promote best practices for distributed systems architecture across the team.
  • Contribute technical leadership within the team.
  • Work across the ML stack from model architectures and frameworks to accelerator runtime.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Computer Science, Math, or 8+ years of equivalent real-world experience.
  • Proficiency in distributed systems design with an understanding of ML efficiency.
  • Experience with ML frameworks including TensorFlow, JAX, and XLA.
  • Solid programming skills in Python and C++.
  • Practical familiarity with profiling tools to identify performance bottlenecks.
  • MS in Computer Science or Math is preferred.
  • Familiarity with ML frameworks such as Pallas and Triton is preferred.

  • Base salary range of $238,000 to $302,000 USD.
