Description

  • Write clear, concise, well-tested production code and deliver features from definition to production.
  • Work as part of a small, agile, integrated product team to continuously improve team skills and the product.
  • Take complete ownership of major initiatives or complex tasks, including design, implementation, launch, and post-launch support.
  • Design, configure, and maintain monitoring and alerting for new initiatives and production systems.
  • Drive engineering-wide improvements by contributing expertise, resolving cross-team technical disagreements, and introducing new technologies when appropriate.
  • Improve developer experience by configuring or creating tools, scripts, and documentation to help other engineers be productive.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineering leaders to align technical work with broader business needs and strategy.
  • Educate others through written documentation, example code, and presentations to raise engineering excellence across teams.
  • Occasionally participate in on-call rotations and provide out-of-hours support when required.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience as an application developer or equivalent developer tools experience.
  • Mastery of one or more languages such as Python, Ruby, and/or JavaScript.
  • Experience with observability and alerting tools (examples: Datadog, PagerDuty).
  • Experience producing developer education materials and written documentation.
  • Experience improving developer experience by configuring or creating tools and scripts.
  • Experience with Terraform configuration.
  • Experience with Kafka configuration for applications.
  • Understanding of container orchestration from an application developer’s point of view and experience across the full ecosystem from local development through production.
  • Familiarity or interest in technologies such as Kubernetes and AWS Lambda; willingness to continually learn new tools; occasional on-call availability outside standard hours.
