Description

  • Write clean, maintainable backend code in Java or Python and frontend code in Angular or React.
  • Upgrade application frameworks to maintain security, supportability, and performance.
  • Debug and resolve issues found through automated and manual testing.
  • Monitor production systems and improve observability to detect and resolve incidents proactively.
  • Lead root cause analyses for outages and implement corrective actions.
  • Run performance and scalability tests, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations.
  • Partner with business and operations users to troubleshoot, document, and resolve issues.
  • Execute manual operational workflows and automate them for efficiency.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation and respond to high-priority production incidents.
  • Enhance CI/CD pipelines and contribute to infrastructure-as-code efforts.
  • Maintain knowledge bases, runbooks, and technical documentation.
  • Drive continuous improvement through automation and tooling enhancements.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in software development.
  • Experience with Java or Python for backend development, or Angular/React for frontend development.
  • Experience with relational databases such as Oracle or PostgreSQL.
  • Ability to write SQL queries.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to bridge technical and non-technical discussions.
  • Comfort collaborating in distributed teams across multiple time zones.
  • Preferred experience working with enterprise systems and modernizing them.
  • Preferred hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), ideally in AWS.
  • Preferred ability to diagnose and resolve issues across desktop, network, and web layers.
  • Preferred experience with on-call support, incident management, and SLA commitments.

Benefits

  • Base salary of CAD $100,000 to $145,000.
  • Eligible for a performance-based annual bonus.
