Description

  • Manage day-to-day manufacturing and test operations for development programs, low-rate builds, and prototype fabrication.
  • Develop and support manufacturing readiness roadmaps aligned with program maturity gates and MRL advancement.
  • Manage facility equipment and tooling inventory to ensure availability and readiness for program schedules.
  • Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance for manufacturing equipment, test fixtures, and specialized tooling.
  • Coordinate equipment qualification and requalification activities to meet program and quality standards.
  • Own the facility CAPEX budget and prioritize capital investments in equipment, tooling, and infrastructure.
  • Partner with engineering and program teams to forecast tooling and equipment needs for upcoming program phases.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop production technicians and maintain training materials and records.
  • Improve production performance through business process management, departmental procedure updates, and quality metric analysis.
  • Lead or support RCCA investigations, FMEAs, MRLAs, HARs, pre-ship reviews, audits, and change management activities.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship is required, and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level is required.
  • 8 to 12 years of related professional experience in Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, or a relevant discipline.
  • Experience leading and mentoring manufacturing or operations personnel in a DoD or aerospace environment.
  • Experience supporting development or prototype manufacturing, including low-rate, first-article, and early-stage hardware builds.
  • Experience managing facility CAPEX planning and execution, including business case development and capital investment justification.
  • Experience with non-conformance processes, including root cause analysis, corrective/preventive action, and MRB activities.
  • Experience with AS9100, AS9102, and/or ISO 9001 quality management standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM or a relevant discipline from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience in lieu of degree.
  • Ability to travel approximately 25% of the time.
  • Preferred: Master’s degree in STEM or a relevant discipline.
  • Preferred: Active DoD Secret Security Clearance.
  • Preferred: Rocket motor manufacturing and test experience.
  • Preferred: Experience with facility design and setup.
  • Preferred: EVMS Control Account Manager (CAM) experience.
  • Preferred: CQE and/or CQA certification, Lean Certification, GD&T experience, supplier evaluation and auditing capability, and familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and equipment lifecycle management.
