Description

  • Support identification and evaluation of market opportunities by conducting regulatory and market research, tackling open-ended questions, and summarizing findings succinctly.
  • Assist with project management and execution of market activities including registrations, dispatches, and settlements.
  • Analyze large datasets in Excel and apply business analysis to convert findings into actionable recommendations.
  • Collaborate with energy markets teams to help customers profit from participation in energy markets and demand-side management programs.
  • Contribute to process improvement, operational workflows, and program execution across markets.
  • For NYISO-focused interns: support NYISO-specific market operations and opportunity evaluation.
  • For Technical interns: develop, maintain, and automate internal tooling and processes that support markets across regions.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to cross-functional stakeholders and support execution of market activities.

Requirements

  • Availability for a full-time summer internship beginning in May or June.
  • Authorization to work from your home location in the US or Canada; Voltus does not sponsor visas or transfers for new hires.
  • Desire to become an expert in the role of demand-side resources in energy markets and strong interest in energy markets/demand-side management.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including strong Excel skills and experience analyzing large datasets.
  • Proficiency in Python is required for applicants to the Technical Internship.
  • Familiarity with Python, R, SQL, or similar coding experience is a plus (especially useful for technical or data-focused work; not required for the NYISO internship).
  • Experience with Salesforce is a plus but not required.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to tackle open-ended questions and summarize findings.
  • Please specify in your application whether you should be considered only for the NYISO market role or the Technical Internship role.
