Description

  • Own month-end close schedules for multiple entities and transition manual workbooks to automated, system-driven reporting.
  • Lead financial discovery assessments to identify accounting cleanup needs and process improvements for high-revenue organizations.
  • Provide financial guidance to clients on a fractional basis, including weekly and monthly reporting as needed.
  • Manage client financial processes and implement best practices across accounting and operational workflows.
  • Oversee internal, external, and client staff as needed to support accounting and finance operations.
  • Support construction financing activities, including timely and accurate spend reporting for bank draws.
  • Manage complex project-level financials, including WIP schedules, budget-to-actual job cost performance, and labor allocation.
  • Develop and maintain property-level performance metrics and financial models for institutional equity partners.
  • Coordinate with client leadership, construction teams, and outsourced tax or accounting firms to ensure accurate expense coding.
  • Strengthen internal controls over cash management, including lien release and waiver tracking.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience as a Chief Accounting Officer or Controller in a private business.
  • Experience as a Controller for growing companies in the Construction industry; Construction and Real Estate Development experience is required.
  • Deep expertise in construction financing and bank draw management on construction loans.
  • Experience with project-level financial reporting, including WIP schedules, budget-to-actual job cost analysis, and labor allocation.
  • Expertise in construction-specific accounting methods, including Percentage of Completion Method (PCM).
  • 8+ years of financial software experience; Sage Intacct and QuickBooks are required.
  • Experience with Deltek ComputerEase, Procore, and BuilderTrend is preferred.
  • Experience with system migrations, such as Foundation to Deltek ComputerEase, is preferred.
  • Experience evaluating banking partners and positioning companies for credit facility or line of credit (LOC) eligibility.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a remote role.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with most communication occurring via Slack or email.
  • Ability to work remote hours approximately 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in your time zone, with occasional after-hours availability as needed.
  • Must maintain an organized remote workspace, controlled audio environment, and business casual attire for video meetings.
  • Daily access to a strong internet connection with a minimum of 100+ Mbps upload and 30+ Mbps download.
  • Must not reside in CA, NY, IL, NJ, WA, OR, MA, CT, MN, or CO.
