Description

  • Work onsite with mission users to build domain knowledge and understand user workflows and operational problems.
  • Master the company’s data collection capabilities and identify how to improve them for key national security datasets.
  • Turn ambiguous mission needs into a data collection strategy covering datasets, sources, latency, coverage, and related priorities.
  • Partner with customer, mission, and engineering teams to prioritize and execute data collection efforts.
  • Ensure collected data is usable by agents through tool-call readiness, retrieval patterns, schemas, metadata, and evaluation loops.
  • Identify gaps where data is not flowing into agent tool calls and coordinate fixes across teams.
  • Develop repeatable processes for intake, scoping, execution, launch, and evaluation of data collection requests.
  • Work with the Collection engineering team to solve additional problems and enable faster execution.
  • Set technical investment priorities based on mission needs and user outcomes.

Requirements

  • Care deeply about the mission and the impact of data collection on national security missions.
  • Strong mission intuition with the ability to decompose messy operational needs into concrete technical requirements.
  • Ability to collaborate deeply with engineers.
  • Comfort making hard prioritization calls with incomplete information.
  • Ability to communicate crisply and write a one-pager that aligns stakeholders and drives action.
  • Experience with data acquisition or collection, national security problems and workflows, or data platform/product work is preferred.
  • Familiarity with agentic systems and what makes data "tool-call ready" is preferred.
  • Prior roles in defense or intelligence mission contexts, or adjacent high-stakes operational environments, are preferred.
  • Track record of creatively scoping ambiguous problems and generating strong hypotheses under uncertainty.
  • Grit and creativity to keep going through roadblocks and work problems to conclusion.
  • Ability to work autonomously and set your own goals.
  • Ability to quickly learn new software products to generate outcomes.
  • Bias toward achieving outcomes, even if it requires helping or doing work for another team.
  • Experience iterating on a product with product design, product management, or engineering teams is a plus.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance is a plus.
