Description

  • Maintain and extend a legacy Objective-C and Cocos codebase.
  • Optimize mobile game performance, memory usage, and runtime behavior.
  • Refactor and modernize systems while protecting live operations.
  • Ship features, events, and improvements in a live-service environment.
  • Use AI-assisted workflows for code generation, debugging, refactoring, and test creation.
  • Collaborate with product, design, and analytics teams to drive impact.
  • Identify quick wins versus deeper technical improvements and prioritize work accordingly.

Requirements

  • Strong experience with Objective-C and iOS development.
  • Hands-on experience with Cocos, such as Cocos2d-x or a similar framework.
  • Experience working on live mobile games or shipped apps.
  • Ability to navigate and improve legacy codebases.
  • Strong understanding of performance optimization, including CPU, memory, and rendering.
  • Pragmatic mindset with the ability to balance refactoring and shipping.
  • Comfortable using AI tools such as Copilot or ChatGPT as part of the workflow.
  • Experience with C++ is preferred.
  • Familiarity with game loops, rendering pipelines, and animation systems is preferred.
  • Experience migrating legacy systems to modern architectures is preferred.
  • Exposure to analytics-driven development, including A/B testing and live ops, is preferred.
