Description

  • Work alongside engineering and production teams to move products from early development into low-rate initial production readiness.
  • Help engineers redline and improve in-process work instructions while building development rocket motors from rough drafts.
  • Collaborate with engineering during time-critical processes to document and share required knowledge.
  • Use moderate to advanced problem-solving skills to improve processes across teams and support a self-starter, flexible work approach.
  • Provide guidance and insight to Operations Technicians on LRIP products and issues that arise during their work.
  • Provide basic training on development processes as products approach LRIP status.
  • Assist engineering with fabricating and installing custom tooling for machines and pre-production hardware.
  • Lead and participate in 5S and continuous improvement activities.
  • Complete transactions in computer production systems on a daily or weekly basis.
  • Perform detailed daily record keeping, reporting, and second-set-of-eyes work verifications.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience working in a manufacturing or development environment.
  • Safety-oriented mindset with a strong focus on quality and development processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and situational awareness.
  • Basic knowledge of milling, turning, and other machining operations.
  • Advanced knowledge or aptitude around mechanical systems and tools.
  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings and designs.
  • Experience handling hazardous chemicals and materials beyond standard solvents.
  • Experience using metrology instruments and tools.
  • Experience working with engineering to develop and improve processes and standard operating procedures.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs without assistance.
  • Ability to wear a respirator.
  • Ability to be flexible and quickly adapt to changing work environments (preferred).
  • Experience with polymerics and mixing techniques (preferred).
  • Experience operating overhead cranes, forklifts, and pallet jacks (preferred).
  • Self-starter mindset with a desire to improve and work across a multi-team environment (preferred).
  • Ability to develop and deliver preventative maintenance programs (preferred).
  • Flexible schedule availability (preferred).
  • Must be a U.S. Person, including U.S. Citizens and Permanent Residents.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance.
