Description

  • Lead the mechanical design of modular generator systems and related power platforms.
  • Design generator enclosures, equipment skids, and structural steel frames for engine-driven power systems.
  • Package engines, alternators, radiators, exhaust systems, and other mechanical equipment within modular enclosures.
  • Perform structural analysis of heavy equipment mounts, lifting frames, and transport load conditions.
  • Design ventilation and airflow systems to support generator cooling and heat rejection.
  • Conduct CFD or airflow analysis to validate thermal performance and cooling effectiveness.
  • Develop manufacturable weldments, sheet metal assemblies, and structural components.
  • Design service access, maintenance pathways, and equipment layouts for field operations.
  • Coordinate mechanical systems with electrical switchgear, control panels, and cable routing zones.
  • Support prototype builds, testing, manufacturing integration, and root cause investigations related to vibration, structural behavior, or thermal performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 7+ years of experience in mechanical design for industrial equipment, power systems, or heavy machinery.
  • Strong experience designing structural steel assemblies and heavy equipment packaging.
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks for large assemblies and mechanical system integration.
  • Experience with airflow, cooling, or thermal analysis for industrial equipment.
  • Experience with generator systems or engine-driven power equipment (preferred).
  • Experience designing modular or containerized industrial systems (preferred).
  • Familiarity with standby power infrastructure, including data centers or critical facilities (preferred).
  • Experience supporting prototype builds and manufacturing environments (preferred).
