Description

  • Design and develop 2D workflows in the Unity Editor for world building, asset management, animation, or graphics.
  • Own core 2D systems that affect adoption, performance, and workflow quality.
  • Ensure 2D features are performant across platforms and devices.
  • Contribute to engineering standards, including benchmarks, testing, documentation, and reliability practices.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams and market-facing partners to deliver high-quality features.
  • Strengthen integrations with external tools.
  • Gather feedback from Japanese partners and creators and represent the team effectively.
  • Engage with users in forums or other community channels to understand needs and share best practices.

Requirements

  • Japanese language skills to collaborate with partners and creators.
  • Professional verbal and written English communication skills for frequent worldwide collaboration.
  • Experience working in games, preferably in tech, tools, or engines.
  • Experience developing authoring workflows and runtime features for games, preferably in tech, tools, or engine development.
  • Experience building authoring workflows in Unity Editor or other development environments (preferred).
  • GPU programming and shader experience with HLSL, GLSL, or Metal (preferred).
  • Familiarity with compute shaders for parallelizable workloads (preferred).
  • Experience serving as a technical lead in a development team (preferred).
  • Ability to work without relocation support, as relocation assistance is not available.
  • Ability to work without visa or immigration sponsorship, as sponsorship is not available.
