Description

  • Design and optimize budget pacing controllers to smooth advertiser spend across time zones and traffic spikes.
  • Lead backend integration of generative AI models to automate creation of image and video ad assets.
  • Build and scale experimentation infrastructure for A/B tests, switchback tests, and long-term holdouts.
  • Architect and maintain high-throughput billing pipelines that process billions of events with high accuracy.
  • Analyze financial and marketplace data to tune pacing, billing logic, and advertiser performance trade-offs.
  • Collaborate on the technical evolution of Unity’s advertiser marketplace across Foundation, Smart, and Intelligence priorities.
  • Own mission-critical systems that bridge real-time ad delivery with financial reconciliation.
  • Lead complex, multi-quarter technical roadmaps and mentor senior engineers.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree in computer science, a relevant engineering field, or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years working on ads delivery systems.
  • Experience building and operating large-scale, low-latency backend systems in Java, Go, or Scala.
  • Deep familiarity with budget control systems, feedback loops, or spend-prediction algorithms.
  • Experience building or scaling experimentation platforms, including variance reduction, interference/network effects, and metric design in a marketplace context.
  • Experience working on mission-critical pipelines such as billing, payments, or clearinghouses with strong data precision, idempotency, and fault tolerance.
  • Experience or strong technical interest in backend workflows for deploying, scaling, and storing generative AI models for creative asset generation.
  • Proficiency with real-time stream processing tools such as Kafka, Flink, or Spark for event-based charging and performance feedback.
  • Proven ability to lead complex technical roadmaps over multiple quarters and mentor senior engineers.
  • Strong English communication skills for frequent written and verbal collaboration with global colleagues.
  • Relocation support is not available for this position.
