Description

  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, estimation, sprint planning, coding, testing, deployment, and on-call support.
  • Design, implement, verify, deploy, and operationalize real-time services with high throughput and low latency requirements.
  • Work with stakeholders and product managers to understand customer needs and deliver simple, robust, scalable solutions.
  • Own, operate, and maintain team services in a distributed production environment.
  • Collaborate through detailed written communication with leads, architects, and cross-functional teams.
  • Scale a complex global distributed platform with high availability, reliability, throughput, latency, and media fidelity requirements.
  • Solve novel customer problems for the Voice channel.
  • Drive architectural decisions, cross-functional technical initiatives, and team mentoring.

Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience in a large-scale distributed applications environment on JVM-based technologies.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related engineering field.
  • Strong computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems.
  • Experience building RESTful services, API design, and event-driven architectures such as Kafka and SQS.
  • Hands-on experience designing and optimizing CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with on-call rotations, incident response, and monitoring/alerting tools such as Prometheus, Datadog, and Grafana.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure such as AWS, GCP, OpenStack, or Azure.
  • Excellent written communication skills for technical documentation and AI prompting.
  • Proven ability to evaluate AI-generated code for correctness, security, performance, and maintainability.
  • Hands-on Java experience with the ability to architect, review, and debug code.
  • Experience with AI coding assistants such as Claude, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor, with ability to describe workflows and show examples.
  • Experience scaling data tiers using SQL/NoSQL databases and caching technologies.
  • Experience building horizontally scalable, resilient production backend systems that perform under load.
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to motivate peers.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership through architectural decisions, cross-functional initiatives, and mentoring.
  • Preferred: experience with SIP protocol.
  • Preferred: experience with Stir/Shaken protocol.
  • Preferred: ability to demonstrate effective use of AI to deliver value efficiently.
