Description

  • Develop, test, and deploy backend, frontend, and client-side applications for internal use at Twilio.
  • Collaborate with teammates and guest contributors through peer reviews, planning exercises, and pair programming.
  • Mentor junior engineers as needed.
  • Write tickets, testing plans, runbooks, and internal documentation for users.
  • Support internal users and help ensure system uptime through a 24x7 weekly on-call rotation.
  • Continuously improve internal developer platform interfaces, local development tools, and platform onboarding processes.
  • Independently own medium-sized features from specification through design and implementation.
  • Help transition internal systems from legacy in-house solutions to cloud-native platform solutions.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of full-time software engineering experience.
  • Ability to work in a remote, async development environment using GitHub, Jira, Slack, and Zoom.
  • Proficiency in any or all of Typescript, Python, Go, Terraform, and Bash.
  • Experience developing and operating software in an AWS cloud environment.
  • Experience with relational database concepts and operations.
  • Experience with Terraform, Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code concepts.
  • Preferred experience working on platform engineering within a software engineering organization.
  • Preferred familiarity with front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.
  • Preferred familiarity with internal developer platform tools such as Backstage, OpsLevel, Cortex, or Battlestar.
  • Preferred fluency with AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, and/or Copilot for software development.
  • Preferred experience with SaaS and open source observability tools such as OpenTelemetry, Datadog, Grafana, and Prometheus.
