Description

  • Maintain maps and transit data so they remain current and reflective of real-world changes.
  • Investigate and resolve issues submitted by end users or identified through web search and Maps testing.
  • Develop and maintain city-level transit data pipelines and update them as needed.
  • Establish ground truth for the assigned city/country through in-city field research and validation.
  • Consult on transit, micro-mobility, walking, and multi-modal mapping projects.
  • Communicate with internal stakeholder teams, program managers, partners, and external companies to support project goals.
  • Apply existing mapping policies to local conditions and help create city/country-specific transit policy inputs.
  • Review mapping operations issues and perform quality checks for cities/countries of expertise.
  • Identify data gaps, broken user journeys, and systematic transit data issues, then propose improvements to the product and data platform.
  • Provide on-call support for data outages and escalate or document complex data issues when needed.

Requirements

  • 1 to 3 years of experience.
  • Graduate degree or equivalent experience.
  • Strong communication skills in English and the native local language, including reading, writing, and speaking.
  • Basic data analytics and technical writing skills.
  • Deep knowledge of the local city/country transit and traffic network or urban planning.
  • Knowledge of transit data formats, especially GTFS, is an added advantage.
  • Basic to good knowledge of GIS mapping tools.
  • Programming skills in Java, C#, C++, or Python are a plus.
  • Ability to work comfortably in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and excellent attention to detail.
