Description

  • Lead cultural resources projects and business development opportunities, including archaeological and historic resources studies.
  • Plan, conduct, and manage surveys, monitoring, testing, data recovery, historical research, preservation activities, and report preparation.
  • Manage projects under Sections 106 and 110 of the NHPA and support NEPA and environmental permitting efforts.
  • Develop proposal scopes, schedules, and budgets and track project financial performance.
  • Coordinate with clients, colleagues, agencies, Tribal representatives, and other stakeholders.
  • Assemble, supervise, mentor, and develop field teams and regional cultural resources staff.
  • Coordinate project mobilization and demobilization at field sites.
  • Prepare technical reports, site forms, monitoring and data recovery plans, and artifact curation documentation.
  • Ensure projects meet scope, schedule, budget, quality, and independent review requirements.
  • Assist with invoicing, staff management, and budget tracking.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a related field.
  • At least five years of supervisory experience; preferably ten years of progressively responsible cultural resources experience, including management or education experience.
  • Experience in the Desert Southwest and Intermountain West, including work with architectural historians.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local historic preservation and cultural resources regulations.
  • Experience with Section 106 and 110 of the NHPA; NEPA experience is preferred.
  • Experience in project planning, business development, and project management.
  • Familiarity with modern GPS technology and ability to use it in remote locations.
  • Strong written, verbal communication, professional writing, organization, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to work independently with general supervision.
  • Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and ability to pass pre- and post-employment drug and alcohol tests.
  • Eligible for employment in the United States.
  • Registered Professional Archaeologist credential and experience supporting cultural resources work across the continental United States are preferred.
  • Ability or eligibility to obtain permits in Texas or throughout the Midwest is preferred.
