Description

  • Own the monthly financial close across three entities and deliver timely income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Build, document, and manage the close process and accounting standard operating procedures.
  • Clean up historical accounting records, including misclassified entries, missing accruals, and unsupported balances.
  • Lead the accounting transition from QuickBooks to Sage Intacct, including chart-of-accounts design, data validation, and workflow development.
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations and reconcile vendor payments and billing using PEPM formulas and enrolled member counts.
  • Manage financial reporting and reconciliation for approximately 60 self-funded employer groups.
  • Reconcile claims disbursements to plan trust accounts and ensure accurate transaction recording.
  • Lead and mentor the accounting team while overseeing AP/AR and providing executive-level variance analysis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • At least 2 years in a Controller or equivalent role managing a full-cycle, multi-entity close.
  • Demonstrated experience remediating historical accounting records and building SOPs from scratch.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, accrual accounting, revenue recognition, and intercompany eliminations.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience migrating or implementing accounting systems; Sage Intacct experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience in insurance, TPA, managed care, or employee benefits—especially self-funded health plans—highly preferred.
