Description

  • Record journal entries and process invoices accurately and on time.
  • Reconcile bank accounts and general ledger accounts.
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Prepare basic financial reports and assist with tranche preparation.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and audit-ready financial records.
  • Support internal audits and compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and respond to internal accounting or finance inquiries.
  • Assist with documentation, workflow improvements, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Handle financial information with accuracy, confidentiality, and discretion.

Requirements

  • Foundational knowledge of accounting principles, including debits and credits, reconciliations, and financial statements.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks is required.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills are required.
  • Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and complete tasks accurately.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable working with different teams and responding to internal requests.
  • High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential financial data.
  • Experience in financial services, banking, lending, or fintech is an advantage, but not required.
  • Experience with Canadian accounting standards is preferred.
  • Exposure to advisory or high-growth firm environments is preferred.
  • Experience supporting accountants or controllers in month-end close processes is preferred.
