Description

  • Prepare corporate and personal tax returns under supervision.
  • Assist with year-end bookkeeping and accounting processes.
  • Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Support tax advisory work and financial calculations using Excel and Google/Microsoft suite tools.
  • Ensure the accuracy and compliance of financial records in collaboration with the accounting team.
  • Participate in ongoing learning related to tax regulations, accounting standards, and best practices.
  • Perform administrative and ad hoc accounting tasks as needed.

Requirements

  • Experience preparing corporate and/or personal tax returns.
  • Background in bookkeeping and general accounting functions.
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, and Google Workspace or Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of accuracy and confidentiality when handling financial data.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new accounting systems, tools, and tax regulations.
  • Prior experience in an accounting or CPA firm is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of tax software such as TaxCycle is a plus.
  • Experience with Canadian accounting standards is preferred.
  • Exposure to advisory or high-growth firm environments is preferred.
  • Experience supporting accountants or controllers in month-end close processes is preferred.
