Description

  • Define enterprise network architecture principles, reference architectures, design patterns, standards, and implementation guidelines.
  • Assess current-state architectures, technical debt, risks, and modernization opportunities, then develop pragmatic roadmaps.
  • Provide architectural direction for complex network initiatives to ensure scalability, resilience, security, and operational sustainability.
  • Evaluate emerging networking technologies and determine their enterprise applicability.
  • Lead architecture reviews, technical design discussions, major implementations, migrations, and transformation initiatives.
  • Provide architecture-level guidance for escalated network issues and establish durable remediation strategies.
  • Lead complex RFPs, technology evaluations, supplier selections, and vendor architecture assessments.
  • Partner with engineering, operations, cybersecurity, infrastructure, application, and business teams on enterprise solutions.
  • Communicate architectural trade-offs, build stakeholder consensus, and maintain technical standards.
  • Mentor engineers and architects while managing strategic relationships with technology vendors and service providers.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of network architecture and design experience and 15+ years of overall enterprise networking experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, electrical engineering, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco IOS, Cisco ACI, enterprise wireless, Cisco Catalyst Center/DNAC, and Cisco SDA.
  • Broad expertise across LAN, WAN, data center, wireless, network security, and cloud connectivity.
  • Ability to translate complex business and technical requirements into scalable, resilient, secure, and sustainable architectures.
  • Experience leading complex RFPs and technology evaluations and presenting recommendations to senior and executive leadership.
  • Strong technical reasoning, architectural judgment, communication, influencing, and consensus-building skills.
  • Ability to operate strategically at the architecture level while engaging hands-on in complex technical decisions.
  • Experience with large-scale enterprise networks and transformation programs in manufacturing or other mission-critical environments preferred.
  • Experience with network automation, infrastructure-as-code, AI-enabled operations, advanced analytics, CCIE or equivalent credentials, manufacturing/OT networking, firewalls, Cisco ISE, WAN, IPAM/DNS/DHCP, private 5G, ServiceNow, or observability preferred.
