Description

  • Explore client needs and develop a technical roadmap and solution aligned to business goals.
  • Help shape Thoughtworks’ cloud and infrastructure practice with business development, marketing, and capabilities teams.
  • Build controls and processes for continuous delivery and ongoing evolution of infrastructure and applications.
  • Drive automation across all stages of infrastructure and application delivery.
  • Monitor projects and ensure technical expectations for deliverables are consistently met.
  • Provide guidance in DevOps, cloud, platform, and infrastructure engineering for internal teams and client sites.
  • Build trusting partnerships with client leadership across engineering and commercial functions.
  • Lead the design and implementation of solutions to address constraints and business policies.

Requirements

  • 9+ years of infrastructure field experience or web-scale hosting platform experience.
  • Experience administering application servers, web servers, and databases.
  • Extensive experience with Azure cloud and virtualization platforms.
  • Experience with infrastructure automation and application hosting technologies.
  • Experience working with software delivery teams and applying DevOps philosophies, Agile methods, and Infrastructure as Code.
  • Experience with server virtualization and at least one IaaS cloud platform.
  • Experience with two or more runtime platforms, such as physical servers, virtual servers, container clusters, serverless, and databases.
  • Ability to write scripts in at least one scripting language.
  • Experience building or working with Linux servers, Windows servers, or container clusters.
  • Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery tools across different tech stacks, web or mobile.
  • Experience with monitoring systems for availability, performance, or security, plus observability patterns such as distributed tracing, log aggregation, audit logging, exception tracking, health check APIs, application metrics, and self-healing/multi-cloud.
  • Understanding of security concerns including infrastructure vulnerabilities, secrets management, network security, and software supply chain security.
  • Bonus: experience with unit testing, automated testing tools, stress testing, and performance testing.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to nontechnical audiences.
  • Comfort partnering directly with leadership teams such as CTO, CIO, and COO.
  • Ability to adapt to uncertainty and make decisions with limited information.
