Description

  • Set the vision and execute a scalable, modern people and culture strategy aligned with organizational goals and values.
  • Advise the CEO and executive team on organizational design, change management, and leadership development.
  • Lead organizational evolution and use data and analytics to improve workforce planning and effectiveness.
  • Direct, mentor, and coach the People team while building a culture of trust, accountability, and inclusion.
  • Design and run internal engagement strategies that build staff trust and capture employee sentiment.
  • Embed diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging practices into the culture and employee lifecycle.
  • Partner with leadership at Trevor Mexico to ensure alignment, collaboration, and cultural integration.
  • Work with the General Counsel on labor relations and management of the collective bargaining agreement.
  • Build learning, mentorship, and development programs, including support for first-time managers.
  • Rebuild and stabilize HR infrastructure, including payroll, total rewards, leave administration, compliance, and data integrity.
  • Oversee the People function budget and ensure investments align with organizational priorities.

Requirements

  • 10–15 years of progressive People/HR experience, including at least 5 years in an executive leadership role.
  • Demonstrated success leading organizational change and stabilizing HR departments through strategic transitions.
  • Experience balancing high-level strategy with hands-on operational work to build foundational infrastructure.
  • Direct experience working in unionized environments and managing collective bargaining agreements.
  • Ability to engage a highly passionate, mission-driven employee base while setting clear boundaries.
  • Ability to develop people frameworks or management approaches for high-stress, 24/7, shift-based crisis environments.
  • Deep empathy for LGBTQ+ and other marginalized communities, with the ability to ensure culturally competent and affirming HR systems and benefits.
  • Proven ability to embed organizational values and DEIB practices throughout the employee lifecycle.
  • Experience managing culture, collaboration, and performance across fully distributed remote teams.
  • Prior experience with 24/7 and shift-based teams is preferred.
  • Prior experience partnering with international entities, especially Spanish-speaking or Latin American branches, is preferred.
  • Prior experience in progressive mid- to large-scale nonprofit environments is preferred.
  • Authorization to work for any employer in the United States is required; sponsorship is not available.
  • Remote work location must be within the continental United States, Alaska, or Hawaii, with occasional travel as needed.
