Description

  • Provide operational support for the Advocacy team and help establish Trevor as a key player in state advocacy.
  • Configure and maintain team databases and tracking tools, and train staff, interns, and volunteers on their use.
  • Maintain the Advocacy team inbox and calendar.
  • Update team operations manuals, support workflows, and performance dashboards.
  • Monitor the advocacy travel budget and manage logistics for travel, schedules, retreats, and community meetings.
  • Maintain tracking systems for lobbying and team activities to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Track and report on federal and state legislation and regulatory agency actions.
  • Draft and edit policy memos, comments, social media posts, educational resources, talking points, and other advocacy materials.
  • Produce and analyze data for public-facing reports and educational materials on LGBTQ policies.
  • Attend virtual meetings and hearings, take notes, and report relevant information back to the organization.
  • Help coordinate the Advocacy Intern program.
  • Build and maintain relationships with nonprofit partners and coordinate across internal teams on advocacy initiatives and corporate partnership deliverables.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of experience in public policy, community organizing, nonprofit administration, or legal/legislative operations.
  • Authorization to work for any employer in the United States is required; no visa sponsorship is available.
  • Demonstrable commitment to LGBTQ rights, youth mental health, or crisis intervention advocacy.
  • Proven ability to manage multi-stakeholder projects and coordinate large-scale meeting logistics in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong planning, problem-solving, multitasking, and time-management skills.
  • Strong spoken and written English skills.
  • Experience with Salesforce, Asana, Mobile Commons, Quorum, and Google Drive is preferred.
  • Ability to work, communicate, and collaborate effectively with others.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Commitment to fostering and maintaining an environment of belonging.
