Description

  • Collaborate with Data Scientists, Business Intelligence Analysts, Product Managers, and Machine Learning Engineers on data processing and analysis needs.
  • Ingest, transform, and warehouse healthcare-related data from multiple sources.
  • Design, build, and maintain data integration, data warehousing, and data modeling solutions.
  • Develop and maintain ETL pipelines and related data engineering workflows.
  • Optimize data infrastructure and processes for performance and scalability.
  • Create and maintain data documentation and data lineage.
  • Support data engineers and data scientists in training and experimenting with machine learning models.
  • Stay current on emerging data engineering technologies and industry trends.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in data engineering.
  • Extensive experience designing, building, and maintaining ETL pipelines.
  • Strong coding experience in Python or Scala for data processing.
  • Experience with Apache Spark, including PySpark or Scala.
  • Experience with AWS services such as S3, Glue, Athena, and EMR.
  • Experience with data modeling and entity relationship modeling for data warehouses and analytics solutions.
  • Deep understanding of relational and non-relational databases, including SQL and NoSQL.
  • Experience working with unstructured and semi-structured data, including web scraping.
  • Experience in a professional software environment using git, JIRA/Confluence, CI, code reviews, and agile methodologies such as Scrum or Lean.
  • Basic understanding of data privacy and security principles.
  • Interest in or experience with AI/ML applications, including model development or deployment workflows.
  • Knowledge of healthcare data standards such as HL7, FHIR, ICD, SNOMED, and LOINC is preferred.
  • Experience with Delta Lake and/or Databricks is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with machine learning workflows and data preparation for model training and evaluation is preferred.
  • Experience validating data quality, preferably with test automation, is preferred.
  • Experience with Docker containerization is preferred.
