Description

  • Design, build, and maintain APIs, services, and systems across Telnyx engineering teams.
  • Debug production issues across gateway, authentication, network, and application layers.
  • Work with engineers across the company to deliver new features at large scale.
  • Improve engineering standards, tooling, processes, observability, and reliability.
  • Support the stack that enables customers to interact with Telnyx products and platform.
  • Help other engineering squads improve how they expose and monitor their services.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional software development experience with Elixir.
  • Strong appreciation for functional programming and a desire to become an expert Elixir programmer.
  • Experience working with relational databases at scale.
  • Understanding of concurrent and distributed programming challenges.
  • Deep knowledge of microservices architecture patterns and anti-patterns.
  • Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, Consul, Prometheus, Grafana, and/or RabbitMQ.
  • Ability to take a thoughtful approach to decision-making, including when to move fast and when to optimize long term.
  • Interest in staying current with new technologies and sharing what you learn.
  • Team-player mindset with willingness to put the team’s success ahead of your own.
  • Preferred: experience building or operating customer-facing APIs, gateways, authentication systems, or internal platforms.
  • Preferred: experience with Envoy.
  • Preferred: interest in working in a fast-paced, product-driven environment.
