Description

  • Support Product Owners, Product Managers, and development teams in delivering software applications for vessel performance, voyage management, and emissions insights.
  • Translate vessel performance data from sources such as LLI/AIS, noon reports, sensor data, and voyage management systems into calculations and aggregated fleet insights.
  • Collaborate with customer-facing teams, including implementation services, customer success, and sales, to clarify calculation requirements and explain how data is used in the product.
  • Research and analyze industry calculation methods and provide the methodology needed to derive values that drive product features.
  • Ensure calculation-related technical standards are met and identify additional industry data sources that can improve product insights.
  • Support the development of more advanced analytics opportunities, including predictive forecasting models.
  • Stay current on maritime industry standards and regulatory changes such as MARPOL, ISO, EU ETS, and IMO guidelines.
  • Help customers better understand performance and emissions calculations through clear domain expertise and communication.

Requirements

  • 5-10 years of experience with ship mechanics and systems, ship hydrodynamics, vessel power generation, and propulsion systems.
  • 2+ years of onshore experience in vessel performance monitoring, voyage operations, and emissions tracking.
  • Experience analyzing industry-relevant datasets to support domain knowledge transfer and troubleshooting with software development teams.
  • Ability to communicate maritime domain knowledge clearly and concisely to audiences ranging from C-suite leaders to ground-level teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience with a range of vessel types, trades, and chartering patterns is preferred.
  • Prior experience with ship commercial operations and a solid understanding of chartering and ship management processes is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps and software development workflows is preferred.
  • Familiarity with data visualization techniques is preferred.
  • Technical coding skills in SQL, Python, or similar tools are preferred.
  • 5+ years of overall experience.
  • BSc in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or a related field with a focus on ship operations.
  • Class 4 Certificate of Competency (CoC), 2nd Mate CoC, or above.
