Description

  • Ensure compliance with the Privacy Act of 1974, the E-Government Act of 2002, and OMB/NIST mandates.
  • Align the NIST Privacy Framework with NIST 800-53 controls to support the Enterprise Risk Management program.
  • Conduct privacy control assessments and review FedRAMP authorization packages for cloud-based investments.
  • Assist with suspected breach investigations, assessments, and annual breach-response tabletop exercises.
  • Support IT capital investment planning by integrating Privacy by Design.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain privacy policies and procedures to support regulatory compliance.
  • Educate and train staff across departments, components, and programs on privacy compliance.
  • Maintain the enterprise-wide PII holding inventory and support efforts to reduce or eliminate collection of Social Security Numbers.
  • Conduct and update Privacy Impact Assessments and prepare new or updated System of Records Notices.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in privacy policy, oversight, or compliance supporting a government agency as a federal employee or contractor.
  • Experience with privacy laws and regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, or HIPAA.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Privacy-related certifications such as CIPP, CIPM, or CIPT are a plus.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a Green Card holder.
  • Must meet security eligibility requirements.
  • Must reside in the DMV area (DC, Maryland, or Virginia) for this remote position.
