Description

  • Develop and deliver clean, maintainable, and performant code.
  • Design, build, and operate scalable backend systems.
  • Help define the architectural strategy for the systems you own and contribute to the platform’s broader architectural direction.
  • Review code and provide feedback on technical work across the team.
  • Build services and tooling to streamline the development process.
  • Mentor and coach less experienced engineers.
  • Help define team standards and best practices for testing, software delivery, observability, and contract definition.
  • Participate in sprint ceremonies including standup, grooming, retrospective, and roadmap replenishment.
  • Encourage experimentation, prototyping, and brainstorming across technical teams.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a software engineer building and operating production systems at scale.
  • Strong proficiency in Java, Python, or similar languages.
  • Experience with database technologies.
  • Experience integrating AI/ML capabilities such as LLMs, recommendation systems, or intelligent automation into production backend systems is a strong plus.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience designing, building, and operating domain-driven backend systems at scale.
  • Experience working in agile, kanban, or hybrid delivery environments.
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences and teammates.
  • Comfort with automation, continuous delivery, and small, frequent deployments.
  • Experience tuning observability across the stack.
  • Experience with ecommerce is a big plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field is preferred.
