Description

  • Record financial transactions for multiple client companies in their accounting systems.
  • Post customer payments and maintain accurate accounts receivable aging reports.
  • Enter vendor invoices, code expenses to the correct general ledger accounts, obtain payment authorization, and schedule payments in the automated payable system.
  • Reconcile bank records and cash accounts to the general ledger.
  • Process online payroll and record related transactions in the proper ledger accounts.
  • Prepare and reconcile fixed assets and review capitalization adjustments.
  • Review trial balances before close and after close, and raise anomalies for controller analysis.
  • Perform other accounting tasks as needed to support individual clients and controllers.

Requirements

  • Must be located in the ET or CT time zones.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of progressive accounting experience with hands-on month-end close work, including journal entries, accruals, prepaids, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Experience working in a team-based or shared services accounting environment, collaborating with or reporting to an Accounting Manager or Controller.
  • Strong working knowledge of accrual basis accounting, including payroll-related entries and adjustments.
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online and/or other cloud-based accounting systems such as NetSuite or Intacct.
  • Willingness to support hands-on AP/AR and transactional work in a growing accounting function.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment with strong communication and accountability.
  • Critical thinking skills with a track record of identifying and implementing process improvements in close cycles or financial reporting.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365, including Excel, Outlook, and Teams, with the ability to manage and analyze data.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple clients, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Adaptable, detail-oriented, and intellectually curious with a desire to learn across a variety of industries.
